The plan is to create a professional resident theatre in the spirit of Shakespeare Festivals that dot the American landscape during the summer months.
Instead of doing the Bard's plays, we'll produce dramas and comedies taken from the York and Wakefield Cycles of 14th century Europe. And, due to our unique climate, we'll be producing our plays from late fall to early spring, taking full advantage of available trained theatre professionals and our wonderful winter climate.
Short plays like: Creation, Eden, Noah's Flood, Second Shepherds Play and Doomsday will be presented in repertory, as traveling shorts on wagons, and, on occasion, in marathon performances. These great plays will be presented in our theatre home and, just like they did in the Middle Ages, we'll put the show on the road and take them to area schools, shopping districts, art centers, food festivals – wherever people gather.
